J. L. Williamson Law Group was founded to provide asset protection, estate planning, and business succession planning strategies. As estate planning lawyers, we are here to help you protect your future, as well as that of your beneficiaries. Jeffrey L. Williamson is the founder of J. L. Williamson Law Group, LLC. The Firm specializes in asset protection, elder law, tax planning, and tax controversy.

Jeffrey is knowledgeable in many areas of federal and state taxation, but he has particular expertise with regard to estate and gift taxation, income taxation of partnerships, and taxation issues unique to tax-exempt entities. He has significant experience with regard to federal tax controversies and is well versed in the audit policies and procedures of the Internal Revenue Service.

Jeffrey’s estate planning practice focuses mainly on helping clients protect their assets from creditor claims and minimizing federal estate tax liability. Through his skill at drafting trusts and other types of sophisticated agreements, Jeffrey is able to help clients maximize their long-term care benefits while also preserving their children’s inheritance.

A frequent lecturer, Jeffrey has presented many seminars on taxation and estate planning issues to various civic groups and investment professionals.

After completing his education, Jeffrey began his career with the Small Business/Self-Employed Division of the Internal Revenue Service and then served as in-house counsel to two mid-sized accounting firms.

Jeffrey is a member of the taxation sections of both the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Haleigh is an associate attorney with J. L. Williamson Law Group, LLC.  Her practice focuses on both estate planning and tax controversy. She earned her undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science and a double minor in Business Law and Legal Studies. After graduation, Haleigh attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law where she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Advanced Litigation Drafting; was named an Equal Access to Justice Scholar; and served as her class representative for the Real Estate Law Society for two years. Haleigh was also a member of the Business, Bankruptcy, and Tax Law Society.

Probate Specialist

Mahendra serves as the Probate Specialist for J. L. Williamson Law. Mahendra is well versed in the procedural requirements for all types of petitions brought in probate court, including guardianship and standard estate administration matters. Mahendra focuses on preparing and reviewing petitions for probate and estate administration; petitions for guardianship and conservatorship; and various other ancillary probate court filings, including accountings and inventories. Prior to joining the Firm, Mahendra worked in the Probate Court of Chatham County, Georgia for twelve years. During that time, he served the probate court in a variety of capacities ranging from deputy clerk to acting chief clerk. Mahendra also has municipal experience having worked as a clerk for the City of Pooler, Georgia.

Sheila Galbreath | Office Manager

Office Manager

Sheila serves as Office Manager for J. L. Williamson Law Group. She has been with the Firm since 2014. Sheila directs both the administrative and bookkeeping functions of the Firm. In addition, Sheila assists all types of clients, but she focuses on the Firm’s asset protection and longterm care planning clients. Sheila is knowledgeable about all types of estate planning strategies and transactions and also has significant experiences with real estate and probate matters. Prior to joining J. L. Williamson Law Group, Sheila worked at many other law firms in a variety of capacities. Sheila is a graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy and attended Armstrong State College and Coastal Georgia Center for Paralegal Studies.

Valoria Williams | Legal Assistant

Legal assistant

Val serves as the Tax Controversy Specialist for J. L. Williamson Law Group. She directs all aspects of the Firm’s tax controversy and resolution practice. Val has been with Firm since September 2015, and she has considerable experience dealing both the Internal Revenue Service and Georgia Department of Revenue. While her primary focus concerns tax controversy and tax resolution clients, so also assists with certain asset protection and elder law matters of the Firm. Prior to joining J. L. Williamson Law Group, Val worked for other law firms in a variety of practice areas, including bankruptcy and real estate. Val is a military veteran and served in the United States Navy as an Ocean Systems Technician (Analyst).
